Wear your green!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!  I slacked this year and didn't make anything festive for St. Patrick's other than green koolaid.  I have to say both girls loved the lemon/lime koolaid, which is my personal favorite flavor.  We had a family date night with the Tacks.  Holland couldn't wait to see Bill, Sara, and Molly.  She asked about them all day.  The girls and I had St. Paddy's day shirts made by Boomtown Embroidery.  Love them!

I was lucky enough to get one picture of our girls and Molly all in one place after dinner. Miracle!

Spring Break: Wichita Mountains

We took one day off from living room renovations to take the girls up to the Wichita Mountains.  We all had a great time and the weather was wonderful.  First, we went up Mt. Scott, which is the tallest peak of the Wichita Mountains.  It was pretty windy up there.

We went to Meers for lunch.  We ate the big 7" Meersburgers and we all loved it!

After eating, we went through the Wildlife Refuge.  The prairie dogs were awesome!  Holland wanted to chase them.  The buffalo were right beside the road and chilling.  The longhorns were very tame.  We didn't see any elk.

We went to see one of the dams and let the girls stretch their legs..... and they surely did.

We went to Lawton and came across a park that is covered with prairie dogs.  We got out and let the girls run around and oh my............. it was hilarious!  Britton was wearing her squeaker shoes and when she started running, all the prairie dogs came out of their holes and started barking/squeaking back to her.  It was crazy!

Spring Break: Living room renovation

Our Spring Break chore was to renovate our living room.  We wanted to replace the flooring, repaint the walls, install new ceiling fans, baseboards, and replace the bay window.  The turquoise carpet was here before we bought the house.  The bay window is very old and a few of the panes have some cracks in them.  The window will be replaced in the next couple of weeks.  It's a long drawn out process where a carpenter will come out and frame the window, then the windows will be made to order, then installed.  I haven't finished decorating so I don't have anything on the walls yet, but here are the before, in process, and after pictures.
