Merry Christmas!

Christmas morning the girls were very excited to receive the vanities they wanted from Santa.  Holland wanted the Ariel vanity and Britton wanted the Sofia vanity.  Both girls pretended to do their hair and put on makeup.  After we had Christmas morning at our house, we took the girls over to our new house for their big gift from us..... a pink playhouse!  Holland and Britton can't wait to move just so they can play in the playhouse!

Both girls were in the Church Christmas Pageant this year.  Holland was a horse and Britton was a lamb.  Too cute!

We had our Thanksgiving dinner (lunch) at Mom's ranch house now that she's moved out there.  It was Mom's first time to cook a turkey and she did great.  Kirk and the girls stayed at Mom's to watch the football games, while I went to town to start Black Friday shopping with Sara. 

Britton turns 3!

Britton wanted a Sofia the First birthday party and that is exactly what she got.  She loved every bit of it!  The kids decorated sugar cookies, had snacks, cake, and cupcakes.  Britton had a wonderful 3rd birthday!

Halloween Princesses

The girls had a great Halloween.  They wanted to dress up like Sleeping Beauty and Ariel like they did in Disney.  That worked great for me since I already had their costumes.  The girls went to our church Trunk or Treat and they played all the games and had a great time.  

PR Parade and Rodeos

This weekend was the 82nd Annual Pioneer Reunion.  I really enjoyed going to the rodeos and taking the girls to a parade.  It was their first PR parade to go to.  Granted it rained Friday morning, but that made for small crowds and we had fun wearing rain boots.

Gig 'em Aggies!

At last minute, we bought Texas A&M football tickets to their season opener against Rice.  We loaded up early in the morning, watched the game at noon, ate at Freebirds, and then headed home.  Long day!  At the game, the first half Johnny Manziel didn't play because of a NCAA punishment, but when he came on the field for the second half, the crowds went crazy.  Everyone was chanting "Johnny" and it was amazing.  It got up to 103 degrees while we were at the game.  It was steamy hot, but that was ok.  We were on the 5th row and got to walk on the field to get to our seats.  Way cool!  TAMU ended up winning 52-31, whoop!

 

 

 

Holland's 1st day of Kindergarten!

Holland started Kindergarten today!  I'm so proud and sad.  She has practiced her writing, coloring, and math skills during the summer, so she can't wait to go to school.  At Meet The Teacher, we found out 4-5 people I went to school with had kids in her class.  Hopefully she will make friends very fast.  Holland's teacher gave all the kids a card with a poem she wrote and some magic confetti to help them sleep the night before school.  Last night, we read the card, sprinkled the confetti under Holland's pillow and when she woke up this morning, she was reciting some of the poem.  Too cute!  Holland did great going to the morning assembly then to her class.  She didn't cry or even flinch when it was time for us parents (mother hens) to leave.  Now, I can't say the same for Britton or I.  We both cried!

When we left, Holland had just moved her name to brought your lunch side.  She loved it!

Kirk, Britton, and I all picked up Holland.  She was super excited and said she had a great day!  Then, we were off to DQ for our traditional first day of school ice cream.

Britton is now in school!  How is it that these little girls are growing up so fast!?!  Britton has started the 2-day 2-year old program.  I was so worried about her going to school, but she did great.  Britton is our shy but bossy one.  Don't ask me how that combo came about, but if she doesn't know you, she will hide behind Kirk or I.  But if she does know you, she tells you and every person/animal in the room what to do.  It's hilarious listening to her tell all her stuffed animals and Mom's dogs what to do.  Her first day of school went well.  She couldn't wait to load up in the car, wanted to wear her backpack, and couldn't wait to get into her classroom.  After school, we went for our traditional ice cream snack.  Yum!!!

Britton is out of the crib!  We waited a little longer on moving Britton to a big girl bed than we did with Holland.  Britton moves so much during the night that we were worried she'd fall out of bed very easily.  She loves her big girl bed and loves not using pull-ups at night anymore.  Britton's been potty trained for months now, but we used pull-ups at night just in case of accidents.  4 months and no accidents means only panties for this little girl!

July 4th

This summer, we've been helping Mom move and get settled in the farm house.  We didn't do much for the 4th other than our normal fireworks at the farm.  The girls loved it.  They both got to fly kites, play with sparklers, light some small fireworks, and guide our annual tarantula to the house so he wouldn't be scared of the fireworks.  It wouldn't be a July 4th at the farm without our tarantula that we have now named, Lloyd.  Now, I love sparklers and so Holland and I had a blast dancing with them.  It would have looked a lot cooler had we waited until it was dark to do our dance routines. 

Five is Fabulous!

Holland is now 5 years old!  My how time flies.  She is growing up way too fast.  Her big birthday gift was going to Disney World.  We asked her what she wanted to do for her birthday party and what did she choose?  Chuck E Cheese's!  I was shocked, but she had a blast and loved every bit of it.  She wanted a Princess cake with Princess rings so that's what we ordered with her Princess picture from WDW on it.

I never would have thought the pizzas there were so good, but man were they good!

Holland loves it when everyone sings to her.  She just ate up the attention.

The Three Amigos!  Lakyn, Holland, and Rylie.  These two are Holland's best friends from school.  Those three always play together and have a great time.
