New Year's Eve

We didn't feel up to going out this New Year's Eve. Kirk is sick with a sinus infection and I'm typically a home body anyways. We met up with the family at Mommer's house for a Wii tournament. Here are some action pictures.

Christmas Day

What a wonderful day! Beautiful weather and Holland's first Christmas. We got up and had our Christmas morning at our house. Here is Holland with her Santa gift, the Cruise and Crawl Musical Jungle. She absolutely loves it!

Then, we went over to Grannie's house to open more gifts and have breakfast.

After breakfast and a little rest, we went home to get ready for Christmas Dinner at Mommer's house. Of course, Holland had to wear her Christmas dress.

5th Wedding Anniversary

Saturday the 20th we celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary. Wow - how time flies! I'm so blessed to have such a wonderful husband. We always have an anniversary cake so this year I got it from where our wedding cakes came from, Kathy's Bakery. We had cake and made Christmas candy at Mommer's house. 6 month checkup

Holland grew so much! She weighed in at 15 lbs and 11 oz. She remained right below the 50th percentile for weight. She was 27 inches long, which puts her in the 75th percentile. Her doctor said she is "lanky" and doing "splendid". She hasn't been sick once in 6 months.......... knock on wood. She received 3 shots and did great. We are very blessed!

Here is one of Holland's 6 month photos with Dixie from last night. Absolutely adorable! She turns 6 months old today! We have her 6 month checkup today and I can't wait to see how much she weighs now.

Mommer's 87th Birthday

We celebrated Mommer's 87th birthday Tuesday evening. It was really laid back. We just ate and hung out. Here is Holland with Mommer.

Just three tries and she figured out how to use a sippy cup. Of course Holland chews on the sippy cup after every drink.

2 month photos

Holland will be 5 months tomorrow and she squealed for the first time last night! How fun! I actually caught it on video. How lucky is that? I never had digital pictures from her 2 month photos with Dixie until today. Here they are. She is so adorable in her baptism dress. I'm always amazed with Dixie's work.

Hello Mariner

Our new car has arrived! We got the 2009 Mercury Mariner Hybrid in on Thursday. It's so cool and smart. I still haven't figured out everything on it. We got it fully loaded, moon roof, navigation system, heated leather seats, reverse sensing system, and so much more.

Bye bye Camaro

It's time to sell the Camaro. It's a 2002 35th Anniversary edition Camaro. It's in great condition and has T-Tops. We have ordered my new car. I can't wait to get it! It's a 2009 Mercury Mariner hybrid. It's going to be awesome having more room to go places with the baby. Here's my camaro...... it's going to be hard to say bye bye.

Chow down

Holland turned 4 months old today, so we gave her cereal for the first time. She liked it ok. It sure was fun watching her try to eat it. :)

A&M vs. Tech

We watched our favorite game of the season in our house. Kirk is a huge Tech fan and I am a huge A&M fan. This was Holland's first game to watch this season and she enjoyed it. Granted, she was rooting for A&M with me. :) It was a good game.

4 month checkup

Holland had her 4 month appointment today. She did great! She is now 25 inches long - she grew 3 inches in 2 months. And, she now weighs in at 13 pounds and 2 ounces. She gained 3 pounds and 4 ounces in 2 months. Way to go Holland!!!!! She had 2 shots and took them like a champ. We had our 4 month photos with Dixie yesterday. I can't wait to see them. We had a casual outfit and her Halloween outfit, pea in a pod. I'll post as soon as I get one.

Cattle, Homecoming...... busy day

Yesterday was a busy day! We went over to Mommer's to visit her, work cattle, and take two loads of cattle over to sell. It was Holland's first visit out with the cattle.

Catherine and Danny came in for Homecoming weekend. We met them at Olive Garden and then went to the game. Holland had a blast at her first football game.

3 months and already a cowgirl

This weekend was Clay County's 77th Pioneer Reunion and we had a blast. We had Holland's 3 month photos taken Thursday. We went to the Thursday and Friday night rodeos. Since it was Holland's first rodeo, we had to dress her up appropriately. We found the cutest John Deere pink boots and two different pink onesies that said, "These booties are made for walking" and "Farm livin' is the life for me." She was so cute!

I got one......... kinda

I finally got a somewhat smile picture. Holland is just growing and getting big. She is lifting her head up while doing her "tummy time," even though she isn't the biggest fan of doing it. The biggest news is that she started sleeping all night starting Friday, Aug the 22nd. What a relief! She sleeps from about 11:30/midnight to about 6 am.

Flooding at the oil field

Kirk and I just got back from going out to my grandparents oil field to see the damage from the flood. I don't think I could have been prepared enough to see this. There used to be 8 oil tanks all together divided by a catwalk and now there are only 4. The 2nd picture is where the oil tanks ended up, on a stock tank dam. Everything was destroyed and the water was so high, at least 8 feet deep, that it completely covered all the equipment in the power (little building behind the tanks in picture).

2 month checkup

We had Holland's 2 month checkup with her doctor yesterday. She has grown 1.25 inches! She is now at 22 1/4 inches long. She didn't gain as much as weight as she should have, though. She still hasn't gotten to double digits. She weighed 9 lbs and 14 oz. That keeps her in the 25th percentile, still. She got 3 shots and did great. She only screamed/cried for a minute and was done. As soon as the nurse gave her to me, she quit and was happy again. We were supposed to have her 2 month photos taken yesterday, but the photographer had to cancel due to a family emergency. We have rescheduled for next week. I can't wait!!!

2 months old

Holland is 2 months old today! Time flies! Tomorrow she has her 2 month doctor appt and her 2 month photo shoot. I'm looking forward to seeing how much she weighs now and hopefully I'll have a photo to post from the shoot. Who would have thought she would have slept from midnight until 5:30am this morning, especially during the thunderstorms. Maybe she will begin sleeping better at night. Fingers crossed!

8 weeks old

Holland is 8 weeks old today! I can't believe it! She is doing good. Granted, I would love more sleep at night. She is more alert now and will lay there and gaze at things. She loves to look at Kirk and I and just smile. Too bad I can't get a picture of her smiling. She is learning to hold toys and is doing great with her "tummy time." She can't push herself up yet, but she can use her legs and scoot across the floor.

1st day at daycare

Holland went to daycare/sitter yesterday for the first time. She did great. Only got fussy once when she had to have her diaper changed. Kirk drops her off and I pick her up. That makes it easier on me in the morning and less emotional for me. Holland is staying with a great lady that only takes care of one other little girl. It makes me feel great knowing that she will get all the attention and care she needs. We are very blessed in that Kirk will have Holland on Wed, Thurs, and Fri, so Holland only goes to daycare on Mon and Tues. :)

6 weeks old

Holland is 6 weeks old today! It's amazing how fast they grow and change. At 2 weeks she was holding her head up. At 3 weeks she could roll herself over from her tummy to her back. At 4 weeks she could straighten her legs out on Kirk's chest to push her bottom into the air. And just yesterday she stood herself straight up with her back pushing against Kirk's hands. It doesn't seem possible, but it's amazing! We are so very blessed!

Holland's Baptism

Holland was baptized July 27th, 2008 when she was 5 weeks and 3 days old. It was a beautiful service. Her sponsors are my sister, Katherine, and our cousin Catherine and her husband Danny. We are so grateful to have them as Holland's sponsors. My Mom hosted a luncheon at the church where everyone in the congregation and visitors for the baptism were invited to eat with us. We had a huge turnout and it was a wonderful day!

Baby announcements

We have Holland's baby announcements! They are beautiful! Dixie did an amazing job on them. I'm so grateful for all she has done for us.

1 month old

Holland had her 1 month checkup today. She finally gained some weight. She now weighs 8 lbs 7 oz and is still 21 inches long. She is in the 25th percentile, so she is still a small baby. Other than breaking out with some baby acne, Holland is doing great!

3 weeks!

Little Holland Adelaide is 3 weeks old today. Time flies by so fast right now. She is sleeping at night now and only wakes up to feed. Kirk and I are so very thankful to start getting sleep now. I can't believe she is already turning over on her side now. They grow so fast!
