Kirk, my sweetheart

A good friend, Larisa, came in town this weekend to do a little scrapbooking and go to the Scrapbook 'n Such garage sale. I got 9 pages done in Holland's 1st year scrapbook. I get really motivated when I have someone there to keep me going and........... Kirk watched Holland while we cropped. That helped out the most! This morning, Larisa and I went to the SNS garage sale. We found some really good supplies to buy. While we were shopping, our new desk arrived. Kirk stayed home with Holland and put the desk together. It took him about 4-5 hours to assemble it. Then he got ready for work. He has got to be exhausted. Thank you Kirk - you're a sweetheart!

Our little lion cruiser

Holland finally got interested in her Stride to Ride Lion. Now she loves it and the music it plays.

10 months old

Holland is 10 months old today. She is doing great and now has her first tooth sprouting. We can feel a little prickly tooth on her bottom gums. :) She is crawling, pulling up, cruising, constantly moving, and enjoying life. If only Kirk and I could keep up.

9 month photos - St. Patrick's Day Theme

Here are Holland's 9 month photos taken by Dixie on St. Patrick's Day. Dixie is amazing! Love the portraits! The 2 St. Patty's Day hats are actually from Ireland. Kirk and I spent St. Patrick's Day 2006 in Ireland. It was an awesome vacation. I can't wait to see Holland's 10 month photos - Easter theme. Oh and yes, that is Holland's name on the tushy of the green longjohns!

Moving too fast

We broke down today and bought a gated playyard. We just couldn't keep up with Holland. She crawls, pulls up, and walks around anything she can keep her hands on to assist in walking. We turn our heads for a second and she's gone! Holland seems to enjoy the gated playyard, though. We put her favorite toys in there and she's been playing non-stop.

Happy Easter!

Easter Sunday we all went to church. This is Holland with Aunt Kate after church service. We had all kinds of drama with the hair bow. Holland just wasn't wanting to wear it. Church service was beautiful.

When we got home, we gave Holland her Easter gifts. Here is her card, It's Baby's First Easter! She loves cards, books, and anything she can analyze.

Here is Holland with her huge Easter bunny. She loves stuffed animals, especially when they are the same size as her.

We gave Holland an Easter basket with her name on it with a bunny and flower stuffed animal in it. She enjoyed it!

After about 100 pictures with her Easter gifts, she was ready to relax and play.

We went over to Mom's (Grannie's) house for Easter supper. We played Dance, Dance Revolution on Wii and had a wonderful supper. Afterwards, we went home and went to bed.

Happy Easter!!!

After playing with her Easter gifts, Holland started pulling up on her own. I thought this would have been such a great time. So far, I'm not enjoying it. Holland decided to pull up in bed for over an hour last night and not go to sleep. Here is my little one, peeping over her pack-n-play.

Easter sugar eggs

My Mom has been making Easter sugar eggs for about 29-30 years now. Pretty much since I was born. This year, Holland and I helped make pink sugar eggs. It's so much fun. Here are some pictures. This first one is where the eggs are setting up after being molded.

We set up an assembly line and start decorating. The sugar eggs are edible other than the little chickens, bunnies, and plastic eggs we use for decorations inside.

After everything inside has been decorated, they are put together and made into eggs. All Mom has to do now is decorate the tops with flowers and ribbons. So cute!!!!

This is Holland helping out! Don't you just love how baby food kinda stains baby's faces.

Holland is crawling!

Holland started crawling yesterday at Grannie's house. She has been on the urge of crawling for awhile now - we were just waiting for her to put it all together. I was lucky to catch her first crawl on video. Here it is. Just remember that it's her first crawl. She was quite wobbly and was trying it out. :)

My Grandad

I got up this morning and put flowers out on Grandad's cemetery plot. I still can't believe it's been 1 year today. I'm going to get out the scrapbook this evening and take time and reflect on his full life of 93 years. Everyone loved him and thought the world of him. And, he loved everyone and every animal. This is how I remember him. In his chair after a days work in the oil field and working cattle. He would take his after lunch "siesta" or as he would say, "I'm gonna take 5." Then get up and get back out to working.

The two chihuahuas are: Prissy (black chihuahua of my Mom's) and Precious (my white chihuahua)

I miss Grandad so much!

It's been 1 year

April 3rd will be 1 year since Grandad passed away. I know we are all having a tough time realizing it's been 1 year and we all miss him so dearly. Here is one picture I had on my computer of Grandad with Mommer behind him and his brother and sister-in-law, John and Virginia. That's me sitting beside Grandad out in their courtyard. I can honestly say he was the best man and person I will ever know. I just wish Holland (who is named after Grandad and the family) could have known him.

Easter is almost here

This weekend Mom, Holland and I are going to make sugar eggs! I can't wait! This year, we are going to make pink ones, in honor of Holland's 1st Easter. I'll post pictures of the eggs this weekend.
