Holland's 11 month video

Dixie is so awesome - we get a DVD every month of Holland's photo shoot with her. Here is her most recent video and it's absolutely unbelievable.

Moving along

Holland is moving way too fast for me now. She crawls crazy fast and is crawling on her feet and hands. What some people call crab crawl or bear crawl, I think. Here is a video from this weekend. She's been doing this for about a week now. She also can stand up without help. Grannie even said Holland might have already taken a step or two at her house.

11 month photos

We had Holland's 11 month portraits with Dixie last night. Had a blast! Holland was so lively and even climbed up the stairs in Dixie's studio. That was a first. I was so scared she would turn around and tumble down, but she just kept on climbing with no problems. Dixie bought that cute hat and had Holland model it for some photos - so cute! Here are some of the photos Dixie took. They are adorable! You can see them larger on Dixie's blog (http://wwwdixie.blogspot.com/2009/05/holland.html).

Our little talker

Last night after Holland's bath, I was drying her off and putting lotion on her. She was laying there just giggling. I said, "Holland, can you say mama?" She said.... "mama." I asked, "can you say daddy?" Holland said.... "dada." Curious about how long this would last, I asked, "can you say kitty cat?" She said...... "kitty kat." Why not try one more, right? I asked, "can you say puppy dog?" Holland said...... "dooh."

11 months old

Holland is 11 months old today! I can't believe she is only 1 month shy of being a year old. I never believed anyone when they told me that the time will fly by. I'm actually amazed at how fast it flies by. She has 2 teeth and with all the drooling, she should have about another 20 teeth coming in any day now. Holland is crawling like a maniac, cruises, and stands alone. She just hasn't taken that first step without holding on to something. She chases the cat and yells "kitty" at him and she plays patty cake. Holland is weighing in at around 20.5 pounds and almost 29 inches long. Time to start planning the 1st birthday party!

Active - 30 day challenge

I preordered the EA Games Active for Wii (http://www.ea.com/games/ea-sports-active) and got it today! I couldn't wait to get home and try it out. I'm going to do the 30 day challenge and started today. I have the Wii Fit and liked it, but got bored with it pretty fast. So I thought this might be a little more challenging for me. And........ it is! I did the low impact workout for Day 1, and I was sweating after the 2nd activity. I like Active, so far, because it changes up the activities based on how hard you want to work out. Let's see how well I do in 30 days.

Mother's Day

On Mother's Day, we went to church and came home. Kirk had to study for the GRE to get into the Masters program at MSU. We typically go to Mommer's for Mother's Day supper, but Mommer was having some tests done on Monday so we postponed until the following Sunday to celebrate Mother's Day. Here is Holland and I before Mother's Day church service.

This past Sunday, we went to church and then went to Mommer's for our family Mother's Day celebration. Holland and I went out to help Mommer set up and cook our supper. Here is Holland crawling with her second cousin, Teagan.

I had a great first Mother's Day. I got my gift certificate for a facial and pedicure and a Starbucks gift card. Thanks Kirk, Holland, and Mom!!!!

10 month photos - Easter theme

Dixie has done it again! These portraits are so adorable! You can see them even bigger on Dixie's blog: http://wwwdixie.blogspot.com/ I was so lucky to find a bow at Morath's Originals that matched her Easter dress perfectly. The pink longjohns have "Holland's 1st Easter" with some easter eggs on the tushy.
