Fall portraits

We met up with Dixie yesterday for our family fall portraits. It was fun until Holland got cranky because it was nap time. We fed the ducks and geese, and Holland had a fun time watching them. Here are a couple of Dixie's shots she got.

These were so much fun! Thanks Dixie - you are the best!

Happy Halloween!

Today was a very busy day. We met up with Dixie for our Fall Portraits at Lucy Park. Afterwards, we had Trunk-or-Treat at our church. Holland had a lot of fun there trick-or-treating for the first time. She can only say "tre tre" for trick or treat. :) Once we left the church, we went over to Mommer's house and then to 2 neighbors and that was it. We were pooped! Holland dressed up as a tulip this year. She was a cutie!

Happy Halloween!!!

1st time to pumpkin patch

Kirk and I took Holland to a pumpkin patch in town today. She had so much fun that she got a little fussy when we had to leave. She would pat each pumpkin and call it "punkie". It was hard to get pictures of her because she was running around everywhere, would punkie pat each pumpkin, and try to carry several of the pumpkins away. After we left the pumpkin patch, we went and looked at some new bedroom furniture and ate lunch at Olive Garden. It was a fun day in town.

Holland picked out her own pumpkin and helped carry it to the car.

16 months old

Holland turned 16 months on the 19th. She is still doing great. Holland is saying more and more words. She picks items out of pictures and books. One cute thing she does is when we are at home, she will go pick up the cordless phone and say, "hi gaga" like she is talking to Grannie. And, she will pick up Kirk's cell phone, and say, "hi mama". Too sweet! We started a magazine/book subscription for Holland and she loves it. The first book came in this week and she can say and point to every animal in it. She can even pick out a moose out of the book. Holland has 4 top front teeth, 2 bottom front teeth, and 2 bottom molers. I didn't even know those came in until Kirk was feeding her this week and saw those pearly whites in the back of her mouth. She is growing so fast and learning so much every day.

U2 Concert

Kirk and I bought our U2 concert tickets back in March for their 360 degrees tour that was on October 12th down at the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium. It was absolutely awesome! We had 6th row tickets and it was a blast. Muse opened up for them, and they were pretty good, too. Here is the stage before anything started.

Here are a few pictures of U2 performing and the expansion of their totally awesome tv screens.

and more dancing......

Holland dances to everything! Music during shows, commercials, etc. This one isn't as good as the tushy shaking she did in the last video we posted, but this is still funny. Too cute!

New stuff

Holland has started saying Elmo and playing with the limbo Elmo we received from a good family friend. She loves to see Elmo limbo and sing. It's too cute. Holland has also started saying "patty cake" while clapping.

Holland typically doesn't enjoy wearing anything on her head, but she did enjoy wearing her winter hat around the house.

We finally got a new television. We love it! It's only a 42 inch Vizio, but it's a good size for our living room. Love Sam's and their great TV deals.

She's a climber

Holland can climb up on the couches all by herself now. No help needed from mommy and daddy. :) I placed a mat in front of the couch this past weekend just in case she fell off while she was practicing climbing. Nope, she didn't need it at all. She didn't fall down on her head, she just slid down and landed on her feet. I can't get over how fast she learns and does stuff.

15 month doctor appt

Holland had her 15 month well baby visit today. Dr. Mike said she is doing great! She weighed in at 25 lbs 11 oz and is 32 inches tall. Holland is between the 75-90th percentile for weight and 90th percentile for height. Kirk and I both think she is taller than 32 inches. She got 2 shots and took them like a champ! We took her to Walmart to pick out some girlie looking building blocks that she loves. And, Holland's new achievement for today is she started climbing up on the couch by herself!

15 months old

Holland is 15 months old today! She changes every day. She is either learning a new word, doing something new, or understanding more. Holland is a little sponge. We did a repeat of the ABCs and she did great. She only missed about 6 letters. I was amazed. I can't even keep up with all the words she says now. It is probably really close to 50 words now. She is getting her 5th and 6th tooth in. We have started introducing the potty chair to her. She has done a number 1 and a number 2 in it. We are not consistent at all right now, but she knows what it is and will sit on it and do her business. I would like for her to be potty trained by 18 months, so it's about time to really work with her on it. She will tell me when she does a number 1 and 2 in her diaper, so she knows how it feels and when it happens. I just need a little more lead time to get her to the potty. :) Holland goes to the doctor on Monday for her shots and well baby checkup. We will know her weight and height then, but I can say she is tall. We have her in 18 month clothes now. Overall, she's doing great and the best thing is SHE HAS NOT BEEN SICK YET! I know! It's amazing! We know she will get sick sometime, but to have gone 15 months has been so great.
